Scott Avery

Scott Avery is descendant from the Worimi people and is the Policy and Research Director at the First Peoples Disability Network (Australia), a non-Government Organisation constituted by and for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples with disability. He has an extensive career in research and public policy in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs, health, disability, justice and education. He undertaking a doctorate on Indigenous disability and is the lead Investigator on a community-directed research program which has been awarded funding support through the National Disability Research and Development Scheme, and has been awarded a research support scholarship through the Lowitja Institute.
